Oberderdingen, 25 July 2024 – With the acquisition of 3,000 square metres of land, BLANCO is expanding its production site in Sinsheim to a total of more than 25,000 square metres. A contract to this effect was signed recently which also provides for the acquisition of the existing building sections located on the site. The seller and buyer agreed not to disclose the purchase price. In this way, BLANCO is seeking to connect its main site with the adjoining premises so as to create a self-contained factory campus.
By acquiring this additional space, BLANCO is expanding its business premises in the “In der Au” industrial area in Sinsheim by around 1,700 square metres to a total of some 16,000 square metres. BLANCO COO Holger Stephan sees the expansion of the factory premises in Sinsheim as sending out an important signal for the future of composite production and the manufacture of high-quality components for the kitchen water place: "Our investment in the expansion of the plant campus doesn't just reflect the importance of the Sinsheim site. By taking this step, we're also strengthening our international production network for the production of Silgranit sinks and bowls as part of the BLANCO UNIT." In addition to Sinsheim, BLANCO operates other sites for the manufacture of composite products in Most (Czechia) and Toronto (Canada).
With the additional land and the factory buildings on it, BLANCO plans, over the course of the coming year, to be able to handle the storage and assembly of stacked transport packaging for the products directly in Sinsheim. The company will also be able to provide more employee parking spaces. In view of these benefits, Plant Manager Stefan Hintermayer is positive about the future prospects for the Sinsheim site: "With the planned insourcing of services not previously provided at the site, we're increasing the depth of production at the site, as well as increasing our speed and flexibility. And since we now have a self-contained area, we'll also be able to further improve our safety standards – which are already high as things stand." The initial focus will be on preparing the additional space for use. Based in Oberderdingen, BLANCO has been producing composite sinks and bowls at the Sinsheim site since 1990, primarily for the German and European markets. The company currently employs around 180 people there.
