In 2024, BLANCO has once again been awarded the water donor certificate of arche noVa e.V. With this, the aid organization again honors the support of our company, which is now entering its fifth year. Dr. Jens Ola, Managing Director of arche noVa, on the contribution that BLANCO's commitment means to the work of the aid organization: "With BLANCO, we have a corporate partner at our side who enables us to organize our aid worldwide and bring it to the people who so urgently need it. On behalf of everyone, I say: Thank you BLANCO!".
BLANCO's support has benefited aid projects in Lebanon, for example. In the border regions with Syria, in the districts of Akkar and northern Lebanon, about 1.5 million Syrian refugees sought protection. Even before the acute crisis, many regions in northern Lebanon were only moderately developed in terms of infrastructure, but since the influx of Syrian refugees, the supply situation has been completely inadequate. In some villages, water from the central supply system was only available by the hour. In many places, the allocations were not sufficient to even come close to meeting people's needs. Repair work on the systems, which are more than 30 years old, was neglected.
In cooperation with local partner organisations, arche noVa took care of the problems on site and organized the rehabilitation of the infrastructure for the drinking water supply, the repair of irrigation canals for agriculture and training measures for sustainable agricultural methods. A total of 60,000 people are thus able to improve their living conditions. For example, fruit grower Hussein Ali Osman from the municipality of Beit El Faqs reports: "Before the canals were repaired, the water took more than three hours to reach us. Even more serious: an extremely large amount of water has always seeped away along the way. It was not enough to irrigate all the land. We had to leave part of it fallow. That's over now."
BLANCO CEO Frank Gfrörer emphasises that BLANCO's commitment has not diminished even in economically challenging times: "Tackling, helping, getting involved is part of BLANCO's DNA. Helping people to make a self-determined living is a meaningful challenge that we have been happy to take on for years."
